A large bushy shrub or small tree, that bears green leaves which turn pale yellow in autumn.
Produces flat sprays of fragrant cream flowers in early summer followed by small black berries in the autumn.
Prefers nutrient rich soils. Useful for extremely chalky sites.

Good for insects and birds. An important berry crop.
