It produces delicate lemon green flowers at the very first signs of spring, these make way to large leaves which are typical maple-shaped; which turn bright yellow, orange or brown in autumn. Winged seeds are produced in Autumn
Growing Conditions:
Grows best in a moist but well-drained soil. Is tolerant of urban pollution and poor, compacted soils.
Value To Wildlife:
Leaves provide a great food source for caterpillars, bees are attracted to the flowers and its seeds are eaten by a wide range of birds and small mammals.
Important Note:
You’ll receive a 2 year old well established whip that’s between 20 to 60cm in height.
This is a deciduous tree and so will shed its leaves in autumn, in order to protect itself from the cold winter weather. Come spring, it’ll burst back into bud and begin to flourish once more.
